Grants of up to $2,500 to Mid-Atlantic Region, USA students to attend a library and information science professional conference. Students must attend an ALA-accredited program in Delaware, New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania. Funding is intended to increase exposure to health sciences librarianship and information outreach among Library and Information Sciences students, especially from underrepresented groups.
The award provides funding for students to attend the ALA Midwinter Conference in January 2020 and participate in meetings, the National Library of Medicine exhibit booth and other activities designed for them to learn about health information outreach and the All of Us Research Program.
Awards to LIS students help NNLM meet the following National Network Performance Measure:
Preference will be given to applicants who identify as American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Middle Eastern/North African, and/or Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander or who has disabilities.
