Residencies for Brooklyn, New York mid-career and emerging artists seeking to advance their artistic practice and gain work exposure. This program provides qualifying artists with studio space, a small stipend, an open studio event, and visits with curators.

The BRICworkspace residency program provides emerging and mid-career artists the resources and support to make a significant commitment to their practice, as well as critical feedback, and exposure of their work. The residency for Brooklyn-affiliated visual artists, offers free studio space in the Artist's Studio and Project Room at BRIC House (647 Fulton St) in Downtown Brooklyn.

A panel consisting of BRIC’s curatorial staff and past residency artists will select BRICworkspace recipients. They will pay particular attention to the following application items:

  • The relevancy of the work to a diverse Brooklyn audience.
  • Feasibility, given the artists’ record of achievement, goals for their residency, and how well they align with BRIC’s facilities and technical resources. BRIC seeks artists who are able to work independently and productively and who have a solid plan of work for their residency.
