Grants ranging from $150 to $10,000 to Oregon local governments and charitable organizations in eligible counties and to USA Native American organizations for programs that benefit Native American communities. Funding is provided for programs in the areas of alcohol and drug treatment, cultural activities, the arts, education, environment and natural resource preservation, gambling addiction, health, historic preservation, housing, prevention, and public safety.

Eligible Oregon Counties include: Benton, Clackamas, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Tillamook, Washington, and Yamhill.

STCCF generally considers projects that will provide the largest benefit to the community or population served and to organizations that have secured matching funding and/or have proposed ongoing fundraising activities.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Generally, awards range from $150 to $10,000. The overall amount average is about $5,000. Application requests greater than $15,000 are not encouraged, however, applicants may request what is necessary to meet their needs.

Term of Contract:

Project activity dates must occur after the distribution reception.

All awarded funds must be spent within one year of the receipt date.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Charitable Contributions are awarded to charitable organizations or local governments within the Siletz Tribe’s service area and/or Native American entities or activities located anywhere in the United States.

Eligible Oregon Counties include: Benton, Clackamas, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Tillamook, Washington, and Yamhill.

Native Organizations located throughout the United States outside the designated Oregon counties are also eligible to apply for funding if they are providing services or activities to a population with more than 50% Native American participation. Applicants must describe on the application how they meet these eligibility criteria.

Individuals are not eligible to apply for funding. Documentation of nonprofit status is not required to be considered for a STCCF grant.

The STCCF is intended to provide funding for assistance or expansion of current organizational funding; it is not intended to be a substitute for existing funding or fundraising activities.

Expenditures such as operating expenses (salaries, benefits, administrative expenses, membership dues, etc.) are generally not considered for STCCF funding.

Pre-Application Information:

The preferred method of submission is by email attachment. Hand delivery, postal mail, UPS, FedEX submissions are also acceptable. The application must be received no later than the due date before 4:30 pm. Postmarked and later applications will not be accepted.

Early submission is recommended. When possible, submit 1-2 weeks prior to the deadline to allow time for basic screening and resubmission of corrected applications when necessary. Assistance will be provided as appropriate.

2019 Calendar year (17-EPR) deadlines:

- 1st Quarter: December 10, 2018
- 2nd Quarter: March 4, 2019
- 3rd Quarter: June 3, 2019
- 4th Quarter: September 3, 2019

For the 4th Quarter, Award notices will be mailed by October 23, 2019. The award distribution reception will take place on November 1, 2019.

2020 Calendar year (18-EPR) deadlines:

- 1st Quarter: December 2, 2019
- 2nd Quarter: March 2, 2020
- 3rd Quarter: June 1, 2020
- 4th Quarter: September 1, 2020

Most successful applications demonstrate a 50-50 ratio of secured funds to the amount requested. Matching funds may include cash, in-kind or future fundraising.
